Health Advice at Your Fingertips
In May 2010, St. Louis Children’s Hospital debuted ChildrensMD.org—a physician blog dedicated to keeping parents educated and informed outside hospital doors.
Has there ever been a time when you needed health advice from your child’s physician, but you weren’t sure if the situation warranted making an appointment or taking a trip to the emergency room? If so, you’re not alone.
After recognizing a need for parents to access credible health information at any time, St. Louis Children’s Hospital created a blog that is devoted to parents and aimed at answering some of their toughest questions.
ChildrensMD features content provided by the pediatric hospitalist team at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and covers a wide range of topics, from general parenting topics like breastfeeding to tips for preventing and treating sunburn. ChildrensMD also includes links to St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s social media sites, the website and videos.
How It Began
The concept for ChildrensMD resulted from St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s desire to reach beyond the hospital setting to educate parents about topics that affect their children’s everyday lives. By providing medical advice and information in an accessible way, Children’s Hospital hopes to help parents raise healthier, happier children.
Visit ChildrensMD.org to access health information for your child and give us your thoughts.
