The Washington University School of Medicine Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology/Pain Management at St Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a fellowship trained or equivalent pediatric anesthesiologist, pediatric pain specialist, or anesthesiologist/intensivist to support program growth and development. Construction of new operating rooms and expanded critical care facilities are already underway.
This open rank position is available for recent fellowship graduates as well as experienced and established pediatric anesthesiologists interested in a rewarding clinical and academic opportunity. Pediatric critical care anesthesiologists may participate in the care of critically ill children in our state of the art pediatric intensive care unit. Our pain service cares for both chronic and acute pain problems supported by a multidisciplinary organization. Support is available to those who are interested in pursuing research or focused academic, educational, and clinical interests. Position can be customized to allow for varying percentages of clinical commitment.

Critical Care
Washington University School of Medicine, Division of Critical Care Medicine at St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking an academic pediatric intensivist to join an 8-member team of pediatric-intensivists and cardiac-intensivists. This position provides access to the following programs and resources:
- 28-bed PICU equipped with the latest instrumentation and recently re-designed private rooms; 1300 admissions per year with average daily occupancy of 85%
- Large and growing cardiac surgical service (approximately 20 heart transplants per year)

Nephrology
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Washington University is recruiting a pediatric nephrologist to begin on January 1, 2008, onwards at the academic rank of Assistant/Associate Professor or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The qualified candidate should be fellowship trained and be Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Nephrology and Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics. The successful candidate will be primarily expected to develop a basic or clinical science research program with protected time and a designated mentor. Candidates finishing their fellowship are especially encouraged to apply.
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Washington University currently comprises four full-time faculty members. The successful recruit would join a dynamic, growing division, department and hospital. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides a comprehensive range of clinical services, including but not limited to general nephrology, acute renal failure, acute and chronic dialysis (approximately 1000 sessions/year), renal biopsies (approximately 70/year) and renal transplantation (approximately 5-12/year). The Division has a T32 supported active fellowship program. The Division is active in several research areas, including Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetic Nephropathy, the chronic kidney disease – mineral bone disorder (CKD-MDB), transplantation, vesico-ureteral reflux and nephrotic syndrome, with active federal grant funding. St. Louis Children’s Hospital has a dedicated pediatric dialysis unit. The School of Medicine has a federally funded clinical research degree program, ideal for candidates applying for mentored-grant funding. A new Children’s Discovery Institute increases the bridge between St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University with diverse programs.
