Fit 'n' Fun Adventure
Program Overview

Starting healthy habits should begin in childhood. Even young children recognize the importance of making sure their heart, lungs and bodies are healthy. When children are introduced to healthy eating and exercising practices at a young age, they are more likely to continue these habits throughout childhood and adulthood.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that children and adolescents participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity most days of the week, preferably daily.  Fit 'n' Fun Adventure is a school-based nutrition program that emphasizes staying active.   Kindergarten through 5th grade students can participate in this 12-week highly interactive program designed to encourage movement and good nutrition.

Let the Adventure Begin!

Fit 'n' Fun Adventure is all about making it fun to move!  Activities are age appropriate, fun and encourage success.  Teachers, students and parents work together to explore and learn healthy messages.  Each day, teachers provide a suggested activity such as dancing to your favorite song or playing hopscotch, for students to do at home.  Parent handouts are sent home weekly to provide families with helpful information and suggestions they can use at home.  Best of all, kids are able to earn cool prizes at the end of each week.
