The Neuro-Oncology Family Education Support Group - BEAT [Brain Tumor Education and Therapy] will meet for the bi-monthly support group meeting at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Carol Wiedner RN, BSN Clinical Nurse Coordinator Hematology-Oncology, will be speak on “Chemotherapy Side Effects - Now ... Later What? Why? What to do."
Objectives:
1. Participants will understand the possible acute and late side effects of chemotherapy and why they occur.
2. Participants will have knowledge of interventions useful in the management of acute and late side effects of chemotherapy.

Teen Session - ROCK YOUR MOOD WITH FOOD!
Presenter Marsha Flowers, MHS, RD, LD Registered Dietitian Clinical Nutrition Manager teaches about how food can affect your mood and energy. What foods should you eat/drink to improve energy and what foods should you avoid. How can you control nausea with your food choices? Also learn about energy drinks and how to use the Internet to find food-related information.
