                                                           Call for Proposals!

Collaborative Nursing Faculty-Staff Research Grants

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is pleased to issue a request for research proposals for the Collaborative Faculty-Staff Research Grant Program. The program seeks to establish collaborative research between doctorally-prepared researchers and nursing or allied health staff at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. This collaborative is targeted to support research projects that have a significant potential to impact the clinical care of children. Interested faculty will be co-principal investigators with SLCH health care professionals and will mentor project staff in the research process.

To apply for one of these grants, nursing faculty must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Doctorate in nursing or related field.
  • Evidence of past research experience, with an established program of pediatric/family research preferred
Grants will support research awards up to $5,000 and will cover salary support, outside technical and statistical support, supplies, and costs associated with dissemination and presentation of study outcomes. Both quantitative and qualitative studies are encouraged.

Interested faculty should submit a letter of intent and CV electronically to Karen Balakas, PhD, RN, CNE, Director of Clinical Partnerships, St. Louis Children's Hospital, at KaBalakas@bjc.org by September 14, 2009.

Selected faculty will be notified by September 28th and invited to submit a full proposal and mentoring plan. Proposals and plans will be due by December 1, 2009. Notices of award will be distributed December 15, 2009. Direct questions to Karen Balakas electronically or by phone at 314.454.5313.
