Operating Room

The operating room provides comprehensive services for the neonate to post-adolescent patient and their families throughout the peri-operative experience. The overall care delivered provides for the physical as well as psychosocial needs of the patient and family. The department recognizes the physical, racial, ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic diversity of the families we serve. We recognize the family as essential nurturers, caregivers and participants in decisions that affect the total healing of the patient. We educate and share relevant information with patients and families in ways that are affirming and useful. These services include pre-operative assessment, education, and intervention, as appropriate for each patient. Intra-operatively, highly skilled and extensively trained surgeons, anesthesiologists and nursing personnel provide a large range of specialties in a safe, well controlled environment using the latest technology and techniques.

We currently have 14 ORs available and one procedure room.  Five of these ORs are fully integrated and three ORs are partially integrated to give expanded teaching ability, less time commitment of nurses to hook up various equipment and the ability to video conference to anywhere in the country.

We use current technology to perform minimally invasive surgeries.  Laser assisted procedures as well as traditional methods of surgical procedures.

Our services include: otolaryngology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, urology, plastic surgery, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, general surgery, solid organ transplant, dental and gastroenterology.
