A Same Day Surgery nurse will call two to three days before your child’s surgery to review your child’s medical history and current health status, as well as discuss how to handle medications your child is taking.
The nurse’s call is intended to give parents an opportunity to ask any questions about their child’s preparation or surgical procedure. We welcome questions, so please don’t hesitate to ask. We want to make your child’s experience as pleasant and safe as possible, so please inform us of any special information needed to care for your child.
The afternoon before your child’s surgery a Same Day Surgery nurse will call again to give you instructions on the time you and your child should arrive at the Same Day Surgery unit. Calls are made after 1 p.m. the day before your child’s surgery or on Friday before a Monday procedure.
