School Program
The Hospital School Program is available to all in-patients who are hospitalized over three days. By the fifth day of admission, the goal is to have patients attending the Hospital School Program daily. If a child will be hospitalized long-term, the Hospital School Teacher sets up a daily schedule in collaboration with the patient, family and health care team.

At St. Louis Children's Hospital, our school program has the ability to contact the patients school to have assignments faxed in or brought by family members. Once assignments have been received or if assignments are not available, our school program staff creates an education plan specific to each patient's needs.

The school program is enhanced by many community volunteers that help work with patients one-on-one. Both the school teacher and the community volunteers can work bedside with patients or if patients are ambulatory, they are welcome to visit the school room.


School Room Hours:
9 am - 4 pm (Monday through Friday).   

St. Louis Children's Hospital is affiliated with Washington University School of Medicine.
