How do I apply?
You can apply for a job with St. Louis Children’s Hospital online, at our Human Resources office between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, excluding holidays or at our HR Service Center in the hospital.
Where is the Human Resources office located?
The St. Louis Children’s Hospital Human Resources office is on the Washington University School of Medicine campus at 4444 Forest Park Ave., Suite E200, St. Louis, MO 63108. Click here for a map to our HR office. An HR Service Center is also located in room LS-3 on the Lower Level of St. Louis Children's Hospital.
May I apply for as many jobs as I want?
You are welcome to apply for any and all jobs in which you are interested. However, be certain you meet all the skill and education requirements for the job, and that you have a sincere interest in each position.
How can a current employee apply for a different job?
Current BJC HealthCare employees can apply for a transfer or for additional hours internally through HR Direct if they are not currently full-time employees, full-time employees can apply for a transfer. Employees must work for 12 months in their current position and demonstrate successful job performance with no corrective action before applying for transfer.
How can I check the status of my application?

How long will it take before I am hired?
There is not a precise answer to this question. The recruitment staff at St. Louis Children's Hospital processes a large volume of job applications and employee transfer applications each day. Processing time for individual applications can vary due to the volume of qualified candidates for each position, screening and interview schedules, access to employment verification information and timing of orientation schedules. We strive to hire only the best and most highly qualified candidates for each of our openings, so not everyone who applies will receive an interview or job offer. What kind of orientation can a new employee expect?
All new employees at St. Louis Children’s Hospital attend New Employee General Orientation in addition to a department-specific orientation. Registered nurses, patient care technicians and other clinicians also attend a Clinical Orientation. Clinical Orientation is offered monthly and consists of dedicated days of training; these sessions usually immediately follow New Employee General Orientation session.
