Karen Peters is a licensed and registered dietitian for Head to Toe and the Food and Nutrition Department at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In addition, Karen earned her Master of Science in Dietetics from Louisiana State University. As a Head to Toe facilitator, she provides nutritional expertise and practical tips for children and their parents.
Brianna Egbuka is an exercise specialist for Head to Toe and for the BJC Wellaware Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Southeast Missouri State University. As a facilitator for Head to Toe, she provides education and instruction about exercise and fitness related topics in addition to providing motivation and support for the students and parents.
Angie Lee is a social worker for Head to Toe, as well as Healthy Kids Express. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Saint Louis University in 2008 focusing on mental health as it relates to youth and families. Angie has many years of experience working with children and in community programs. As a facilitator for the Head to Toe program, she provides social and emotional support to assist participants and families in improving self-confidence and ultimately leading a healthier lifestyle.
Cynthia Hovis is a social worker for Head to Toe, as well as Healthy Kids Express. She has a BA in psychology with a minor in education and earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Saint Louis University. Cynthia has worked with youth and families for more than ten years in a local school and with several local community organizations. As a facilitator for the Head to Toe program, she provides social and emotional support to assist participants and families in improving awareness and self-esteem and ultimately leading a healthier lifestyle.
Karen Siegrist, RN, BC, PNP, is the Medical Advisor for Head to Toe. Karen is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She has experience working with children who are obese and children who have diabetes, rheumatologic and immunologic diseases and developmental disabilities. She is a passionate volunteer and advocate for children of all ages.
Tammy Staten is the Program Supervisor for Head to Toe, as well as other Health and Wellness programs at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in Infant and Child Development from Southeast Missouri State University. Tammy facilitates pediatric health and education programs to targeted audiences at schools and community organizations in an effort to combat the obesity epidemic facing young children today.
