Visiting: What to Expect

An initial visit to the Cerebral Palsy Center may include the following:

  • Detailed history, physical and neurological examinations (including tests of strength, motor control, coordination and gait)
  • Imaging studies (e.g., MRI of the brain) may be ordered for a later date if necessary
  • Physical therapy consultation
  • Assistive technology assessment (consultation with equipment specialist, referral to SLCH Augmentative Communication Team)
  • Personalized action plan
