- The Division of Immunology and Rheumatology consists of full-time faculty, fellows in training, a nurse specialist, a physical therapist, nutritional and psychology consultants and secretarial support staff.
- The division is internationally recognized for investigation into the pathogenesis of immunologic disorders of childhood.
- The physicians are faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine and highly recognized for their skills in caring for children with immunologic and rheumatologic disorders.
- Patients are referred from around the United States for evaluation and the division is a designated Regional Arthritis Center for the State of Missouri.
- Primary and secondary immunodeficiences, including DiGeorge syndrome and agammaglobulinemia
- Neutrophil disorders, such as chronic granulomatous disease
- Viral disorders, such as HIV infection
- Lymphoproliferative disorders, such as sarcoidosis
- Joint centered disorders, such as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, spodyloarthropathy and rheumatic fever
- Autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma and dermatomyositis
- Vasculitic diseases, including Kawasaki disease and Henoch-Schonlein purpura
