- The Division of Rheumatology consists of four full-time faculty, four fellows, a nurse practitioner, a nurse specialist, a physical therapist, nutritional and psychology consultants and secretarial support staff.
- The division is internationally recognized for investigation into the pathogenesis of immunologic and rheumatologic disorders of childhood.
- The physicians are faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine and highly recognized for their skills in caring for children with rheumatologic disorders.
- Patients are referred from around the United States for evaluation and the division was designated a Regional Arthritis Center for the State of Missouri.
- Joint centered disorders, such as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathy and rheumatic fever
- Autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma and dermatomyositis
- Lymphoproliferative disorders, such as sarcoidosis and HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis)
- Vasculitic diseases, including Kawasaki disease and Henoch-Schonlein purpura
- Auto-inflammatory disorders, such as Familial Mediterrean Fever, TRAPS, and HIDS (Hyper Immunoglobulinemia D Syndrome)
