Meet Our Patients
  • Anthony - Anthony’s heroes are musicians like Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. He’s a musician who appreciates the classics.
  • Brandon D. - When Brandon Dennis was diagnosed with a brain tumor at five-years-old, the last thing on his parents’ minds was his hearing.
  • Brandon S. - After undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, Brandon is once again playing ice hockey and baseball. 
  • Braydon - Braydon responded well to his treatment protocol for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and went into remission within the first 30 days. He is a very active and typical four-year-old.
  • Brooke - Calculus, biology, chemistry, Italian and a tap dance class is Brooke Cantwell’s first semester schedule at the University of Mississippi.
  • Clare - Imagine trying to maintain a straight-A average in school while practicing competitive tap, jazz, and modern dance as your body is being compromised by an undetected tumor. 
  • Courtney - Courtney Phinney will spend the rest of her life making good on a promise. Her journey began in May 2007, with the diagnosis of a brain tumor called an anaplastic astrocytoma.
  • Daniel - Daniel just turned four. And his birthday party was a smash! Dozens of friends celebrated at the Chuck E. Cheese’s in Daniel’s hometown of Weir, Kansas.
  • Kaitlyn - Ever since Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Mediastinal Lymphoma, she has been determined to go back and compete at the AAU Junior Olympic games.
  • Krystabelle - She has consistently won people over with her sunny, go-with-the-flow personality.  These traits are serving her well as she battles embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.
  • Leah - Maybe it's just part of being a resilient teenager, or part of her personality, but she's never allowed herself to think things weren't going to turn out just fine.
  • Madeline - Madeline overcomes brain tumors to dance competitively and hold lemonade stands benefiting research. 
  • Sam - “I still remember the day Sam had his surgery and they came out and told us it was cancer.”
  • Zach - He survived cancer not once, but three times. Today, you can catch up with the A student on the basketball court, the baseball field or in the kitchen cooking dinner!

    Elizabeth: Getting help from a special tutoring program to overcome challenges in school following treatment for a brain tumor.  Video

    Frances: Battling a brain tumor with help from the Neuro-Oncology program with strength, determination and humor. Video

    Zach: This twelve-year-old discusses his three-time battle with cancer. 

    Adam: Using creative therapies to overcome memory and comprehension challenges following treatment for leukemia. Video

    Benjamin: Fighting a brain tumor, Benjamin uses his "Kid Cam" to provide behind the scenes look at the St. Louis Children's Hospital experience through a kid's eyes.

    Clare: Despite six months of chemotherapy, she is still finding the strength to dance.
