All training activities take place within St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Department of Psychology. The Department of Psychology employs 14 licensed clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists on staff, all of who hold faculty appointments through the Washington University School of Medicine. The resident will be equipped with resources necessary to complete work-related responsibilities including an office, computer access, phone, and support staff. Support staff will manage scheduling appointments, insurance verification, tracking of appointments, and other indirect patient-related care functions. The resident will have the full support of a transcriptionist, including filing paperwork, sending out reports, and other paperwork/clerical functions.
Psychology residents typically work Monday through Friday and have no on-call or overnight duties. Residents work a 45-50 hour work week dependent on clinical and paperwork demands. The end and start times of the day will depend on that specific day’s schedule. The resident is expected to have 20 patient billable contact hours per week on average. Residents will see patients only supported by a supervisor on site.
