St. Louis Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center designated by the State of Missouri Department of Health and Human Services and is recognized as an expert in the evaluation and treatment of children who have experienced a variety of injuries. Trauma is considered a surgical disease; therefore, care of the injured child is directed by the pediatric trauma surgeons.
