St. Louis Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center designated by the states of Missouri and Illinois. We are recognized as an expert in the evaluation and treatment of children who have experienced a variety of injuries. Trauma is considered a surgical disease; therefore, care of the injured child is directed by the pediatric trauma surgeons.
