Training Goals and Objectives

Our program's main objective is to train clinical psychologists as specialists in pediatric psychology. Graduates of our program will have the skills to work in a pediatric setting such as a children's hospital, academic medical center, or within a pediatric primary care or specialty care outpatient medical practice. We expect that our graduates leave with solid skills in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention.

Primary to our goals is the ability to work within a multidisciplinary setting and interact as a consultant to members of pediatric medical teams. Graduates will be skilled clinicians with the ability to participate in collaborative studies in the field of pediatric psychology and the skills to implement evidence based practice. We are committed to training graduates who will be compassionate and ethical practitioners of pediatric psychology, practicing with an understanding of the unique needs of each patient they treat. Thusfar our graduates have gone on to clinical positions in child development centers and children’s hospitals.
