Live Webcast on September 7 to Address Sports Injuries
How do I know if my child has a concussion? At what age is my child ready for organized sports? When should I go to the emergency department? Sports injuries are often topics of concern for families with active young children and adolescents, especially this time of year when kids return to school.
St. Louis Children’s Hospital is hosting Good Sports: Preventing and Treating Kids' Sports Injuries, a live webcast for parents, coaches and school personnel at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7.
A panel of experts is prepared to answer questions on sports-related issues ranging from broken bones, to overuse injuries, to the need for heart screens. Mike Jones, football coach and former St. Louis Rams player, Mark Halstead, MD, orthopedic medicine, Dee Hodge, MD, emergency medicine, and Jennifer Silva, MD, cardiology, will make up the live panel.
Please encourage families to join the live discussion by visiting our Youth Sports section on Wednesday, September 7 at noon. They may pre-register and and submit question in advance, then watch on September 7 as our experts answer their questions.
