New Video Explains Head to Toe Weight Management Program
A new video helps interested parents and children better understand what they can expect in the Head to Toe weight management program. It features current participants and graduates of the program.
“We found that families were hesitant to sign up because they weren’t sure what to expect,” says Tammy Staten, program supervisor. “The video is a fun way to let kids and adults learn more from the families that have been through the program.”
Kids ages 8 – 17 who are at risk for obesity and are interested in weight management, fitness and healthier living are encouraged to join the Head to Toe Program. Families will regularly for 12 sessions to learn more about how to lead healthier lives by eating right and exercising regularly.
“The program is led by an exercise physiologist and a registered dietitian from Children’s Hospital,” says Tammy Staten, program supervisor. “We combine hands-on fitness and nutrition activities in a fun and interactive environment.”
Head to Toe is offered at the Clayton Recreation Center and the St. Peter’s Rec Plex. A $60 registration fee covers all program costs.
The Head to Toe Program is made possible by generous donations to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Parents may register by calling the Children’s Hospital Answer Line at 314.454.KIDS (5437) or 800.678.KIDS (5437).
