Call for Abstracts:

The Department of Professional Practice at St. Louis Children’s Hospital is now accepting abstracts for podium and poster presentations of research and evidence-based practice projects.

Deadline for Abstract Submission: July 29, 2011

This conference provides nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals the opportunity to showcase research and evidence-based practice projects which contribute to changing practice at the bedside to improve patient outcomes and deliver quality patient care. Abstracts are accepted for research or evidence-based projects. Incomplete abstracts will not be reviewed.

Abstract guidelines:

• Center the title in caps at top of page with the author(s) and affiliation(s) below the title.
• Indicate contact author with email address and telephone.
• Maximum 350 words; typed in 12-point font, single-spaced
• Abstracts should contain background, purpose, methods, results, and implications for practice
• Provide 2 objectives for inclusion with the abstract (not part of word count)
• Abstracts for podium presentations must be of completed research or projects
• Abstracts for poster presentations may be of completed or in progress research or projects
• Submit abstracts in Word format to Karen Balakas, PhD, RN, CNE, at kabalakas@bjc.org by July 29, 2011.
