St. Louis Children’s Hospital earned a distinction that only about 100 hospitals worldwide have achieved -- its third consecutive Magnet® honor for nursing excellence.
On July 1, St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Critical Care Transport Team becomes one of the first pediatric hospitals in the nation—and the first in Missouri and Illinois—to offer scene response—the capability of sending via helicopter a pediatric specialty care team directly to the site of an accident involving children.
In each of the 10 specialties surveyed, St. Louis Children’s Hospital-Washington University School of Medicine is again among the best in the nation, according to U.S.News & World Report. The publication released its annual “Best Children’s Hospitals” edition, along with the methodology used to prepare the rankings.
In its 136 year history, St. Louis Children’s Hospital has grown exponentially. It has expanded its services into the community through mobile health programs and emergency services offered within other hospitals. But today it will add a new freestanding location, as hospital staff and Washington University Physicians welcome patients to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Specialty Care Center at the corner of I-64/Hwy 40 and Mason Road in west St. Louis County.
