Visiting: What to Expect
You may check in at one of the reception desks on the second floor of St. Louis Children's Hospital or in Professional Office Building 3 (POB-3) at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.
Please have your insurance card available.
- Co-pay will be requested at the time of your visit.
Initial office visit
During the initial office visit, the doctor and his or her associates may spend one to two hours with you and your child. The need for laboratory studies and the treatment plan will be discussed with you. If results of laboratory tests or x-rays are needed that same day, additional time may be required.
After your visit
After your visit, the specialist will call or write your child's personal physician to report the results of the evaluation. Your child may be scheduled for another visit to discuss the results of the tests or to observe the progress of treatment.
