Fast Track Care
For some illnesses and injuries, your child may be cared for by our “Fast Track” service.
Families will arrive at the main emergency room (ER) entrance and check in with the pediatric emergency nurse. If your child has symptoms of earaches, a cough with no fever, or minor injuries or lacerations, the nurse may direct your child’s care to our “Fast Track” service.
A specially-trained pediatric nurse practitioner and registered nurse will care for your child and consult with board-certified pediatric emergency physicians on the best course of treatment. Because these illnesses typically don’t require complex diagnostic tests and are quicker to evaluate and treat in the ER, the “Fast Track” service helps your child return home as soon as possible.
Fast Track Care service hours:
Monday – Friday, 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. – 12 a.m.
