Melody Valve

The Melody valve is an innovative kind of heart conduit that allows physicians to repair defective pulmonary valves in children and adults which helps restore blood flow to the heart. The device can delay or prevent the need for open-heart surgery. The Melody valve requires a short overnight hospital stay after implantation, and patients are not faced with the discomforts and pain associated with open-heart surgery. St. Louis Children's Hospital is one of a handful of pediatric centers using this non-surgical approach to managing congenital heart disease.
