School Reentry

The goal of school reentry is to introduce teachers and classmates to patient’s changes and needs in a non-threatening manner.

Team members include: Therapists, School Teacher, Social Worker, Child Life Specialist

The school reentry team develops an individualized, age-appropriate presentation for the patient’s classmates and teachers.  The presentation includes information regarding:

• patient’s diagnosis and reason for hospitalization
• patient’s goals and progress in therapies
• patient’s school adaptation needs
