Therapeutic Community Outing (TCO)
A Therapeutic Community Outing (TCO) supports the use of newly learned skills in the natural environment and allows the patient to practice interactions within the community under staff supervision.
Goals include:
- Age-appropriate safety
- Age-appropriate activity tolerance
- Maintaining bowel/bladder routine
- Navigating barriers
- Demonstrating recall of outing
- Ambulating or propelling wheelchair
- Demonstrating problem-solving
- Communicating with members of community
- Age-appropriate social interaction
- Age-appropriate behavior
