Gastrostomy Site Breakdown
Gastrostomy is a surgically created opening in the stomach and the abdominal muscles. A tube is passed through these openings, into the stomach, to allow for feeding of a person who cannot eat normally. The skin around the gastrostomy tube can breakdown and require treatment.
