Perspectives in Pediatrics Conference
St. Louis Children’s Hospital is proud to present our 8th Annual Perspectives in Pediatrics Conference on May 8 and 9, 2014. As a top ten nationally ranked children’s hospital we are continually striving to advance the practice of pediatric care locally and across the country. Reflecting the trend toward interprofessional collaboration in patient care, this conference has evolved from a nursing-focused event to one that involves the entire multidisciplinary pediatric health care team.
At St. Louis Children’s Hospital, along with our partners at Washington University School of Medicine, we care for children from all over the United States and around the world. At the same time, we are a safety net provider for children in our own region, providing community outreach programs for underserved populations in the St. Louis area. To that end, this year’s conference focuses on many topics that are a concern in our community, as well as in other urban areas: trauma, bullying, street violence, and issues of gay/transgender youth. Other speakers will discuss compassionate care through the lifespan, adolescent parents in the NICU, and surviving serious injury or the loss of a child to trauma.
This annual conference gives us an opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with other pediatric nurses and health care professionals from around the country. Past conferences have included close to 200 participants who have come to learn and share their experiences with us. We hope that you will join us for an exciting two days of learning and networking with your colleagues!
