Perspectives in Pediatrics Conference
Think Globally, Care Locally
St. Louis Children’s Hospital is proud to present our 9th Annual Perspectives in Pediatrics Conference on May 7, 2015. As a top ranked children’s hospital we are continually striving to advance the practice of pediatric care locally and across the country. Reflecting the trend toward interprofessional collaboration in patient care, this conference has evolved from a nursing-focused event to one that involves the entire multidisciplinary pediatric health care team.
Along with our partners at the Washington University School of Medicine, we care for children from all over the United States and around the world. At the same time, we are a safety net provider for children in our own region, providing community outreach programs for medically underserved populations in the St. Louis area. This year’s conference focuses on cultural competence and care for the many international refugees and immigrants in our region. Topics such as medical interpretation, human trafficking and international nursing differences are covered through a day-long program that expands our awareness and skills for working with children and families from other countries.
This annual conference enables us to share our experience and knowledge with other pediatric nurses and health care professionals from the region and beyond. Past conferences have included close to 200 participants who have come to learn and share their experiences with us. We hope that you will join us for an exciting day of learning and networking with your colleagues!
