The 2010 Heart of Gold recipients are Sally and Harry Johnston.
Sally and Harry Johnston exemplify the highest levels of generosity and commitment to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, not only through their philanthropic contributions, but with the gifts of their time and leadership as well.
Sally and Harry have a long history with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Harry’s affiliation came naturally as he observed his father’s leadership as Hospital Board of Trustees Chair from 1962 until 1964. As a family, the Johnstons have participated in our golf tournaments, co-ed and women’s for nearly 30 years. Sally has served as a Board of Trustees member, was a charter member on the Resource Allocations Committee, and is a Lifetime Friends member.
Sally and Harry are passionate about doing what’s right for kids and understand the impact philanthropy has on the hospital and the kids it serves. The Johnstons have been loyal donors to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for the past 31 years and have been Circle of Care members for the past nine years. In addition to their generous annual giving, they are helping to pave the way to advancing the future of pediatric care for lung diseases and traumatic brain injury and other brain disease through their significant gifts benefiting the Children’s Discovery Institute Center for Pulmonary Disease and the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Program.
