The cochlear implant program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital is a joint program offered by St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Washington University Department of Otolaryngology.

Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital have been involved with cochlear implants since the mid 1980s, with over 550 pediatric cochlear implant surgeries completed thus far at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, including a rapidly increasing number of bilateral cochlear implantations.

The program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital collaborates with and participates in ongoing research projects. This research gives our patients access to the latest information, surgical and programming applications and technology to maximize benefits from their hearing aids and cochlear implants.
