PGY1 Required Clinical Rotations

  1. Orientation (6 weeks)
  2. General Pediatrics (4 weeks)
  3. Hematology / Oncology (4 weeks)
  4. Neonatology (4 weeks)
  5. Critical Care (PICU) (4 weeks)
  6. Antimicrobial Stewardship (4 weeks)
  7. Neurology/Neurosurgery (4 weeks)

PGY1 Elective Clinical Rotations (Typically 4 weeks)

  1. Infectious Diseases
  2. Solid Organ Transplant
  3. Emergency Medicine
  4. High Risk Obstetrics
  5. Pulmonology
  6. Cardiology/Cardiac ICU
  7. Bone Marrow Transplant
  8. Psychiatry

**Required rotations can be repeated as electives

PGY2 Required Clinical Rotations

  1. Orientation (6 weeks – unless resident completed PGY1 at SLCH then shortened to one week)
  2. General Pediatrics (4 weeks)    
  3. Oncology (4 weeks)         
  4. Critical Care (6 weeks)    
  5. Teaching Rotation (Neurology) (5 weeks)

PGY2 Elective Clinical Rotations (Typically 4 weeks)

  1. Infectious Diseases
  2. Solid Organ Transplant
  3. Emergency Medicine
  4. High Risk Obstetrics
  5. Pulmonology
  6. Bone Marrow Transplant
  7. Cardiology/CICU
  8. Antimicrobial Stewardship
  9. Psychiatry

Longitudinal Experiences:

1) Ambulatory Care Component

  • Dialysis Clinic
  • Solid Organ Transplant Clinic
  • Cystic Fibrosis Clinic

2) Leadership Rotation

  • Monthly meetings with Director of Pharmacy
