The Adolescent Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital was created to meet the complex, growing health care needs of adolescents.

Adolescent patients (ages 12–21) require general and specialized care that is tailored to their mental, physical, and social development. The Adolescent Center offers evaluation and treatment for a range of conditions including:

  • Reproductive health care, such as menstrual problems, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, pap smears, and cancer screenings
  • Issues of weight management
  • Eating disorders and avoidant restrictive food intake disorders (ARFID)
  • Medical challenges associated with adolescence including management, coping, and compliance issues
  • Wellness promotion and preventive health care services
  • Personal, family, and school challenges
