Healthy Kids Express has seen more than 100,000 children and preformed more than 200,000 screenings for hearing and vision, anemia, lead, dental, asthma and scoliosis. Services also include height/weight measurements and immunizations. The program was developed to bring health care to children from 1-18 years old in St. Louis city, surrounding counties and the Metro East. Healthy Kids Express provides services to 20,000 children per year and is made possible through the generosity of donors to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Healthy Kids Express is a site-based program, partnering with local school districts, Head Start programs, local day care centers, and other community sites to offer services. Healthy Kids Express social workers gather resources and are able to connect families to community resources such as low-cost health insurance and healthcare providers. While waiting for services to be provided, children are able to enjoy educational videos.

Each van has a front exam room where children can receive the individual attention they need.
3 -- Driver's Chair
Healthy Kids Express Drivers have a special license to drive the vans.

Healthy Kids Express is well equipped for any type of emergency. Each van offers running water and a working toilet. |
5 -- Computer
All medical results are recorded and stored confidentially. The school or daycare center receives a copy of each child's test results. The vans' PNPs, RNs and social workers offer complete case management.
6 -- Back Exam Room
Each van has a back exam room where children can receive the individual attention they need.
