When can I expect to hear about advancements in the application process?

How long is the fellowship and how long are the rotations?

The fellowship is a two-year program with multiple rotations. Rotation length varies based on the projects available and the fellow's interests and prior experience.

Can you provide an example of the type of projects the fellows will complete?

Fellows will be challenged with strategic projects, such as creating a clinical service plan, leading a major process improvement project, or focusing on a major initiative related to the imperative goals of the hospital.

How flexible is the fellowship’s timeline?

The start date of this two-year commitment is July, with potential for an earlier start date in June. Rotations are flexible. Transition between rotations may vary depending on a fellow's work assignments, skill level, and interests.

How many fellows do you accept each application period?

One fellow is accepted during each application period.

What is the salary for a fellow?

The salary is competitive with other nationally ranked post-graduate administrative fellowship programs.

What benefits are included?

Fellows receive full medical and dental benefits, paid holidays, earned time off for vacation, travel and tuition assistance for professional development opportunities, association dues, life and disability insurance, retirement contribution, and tuition assistance.

Does the position offer a moving or relocation stipend?

A stipend will be provided to support the new fellow in moving to their new location if needed.

Upon completion, will the fellowship lead to a position within St. Louis Children’s Hospital?

Although it is the hope and intent of the fellowship that a fellow will continue working for St. Louis Children’s Hospital, there is no formal obligation from either party to offer or accept a position post-fellowship.

Can the fellowship be used as a residency placement to complete my master’s degree?

We prefer postgraduate candidates for our fellowship position but will consider students whose university program requires the completion of a practicum or fellowship program prior to graduation.

Since St. Louis Children’s Hospital is part of the BJC HealthCare system, will there be opportunities within the entire medical system?

For this fellowship, all rotations will occur within St. Louis Children’s Hospital, with opportunities to collaborate on projects with colleagues throughout BJC HealthCare.

What kind of mentoring and professional support is provided for fellows?

Fellows receive support from the executive sponsors, their program sponsor, and facility preceptors who will provide guidance throughout the fellowship process and in career selection.
