The Asthma Education Committee is dedicated to bringing the most up-to-date information about asthma to the community. Through community education programs, Asthma Control Education (ACE) sessions, and annual seminars, the pediatric nurses and specialists dedicated to asthma education ensure that children with asthma are receiving the help and information they need to live healthy lives.
More than six million children in America have asthma. It is the most common long-term lung disease in children in the United States. Asthma can be controlled if children learn about asthma, see their doctors or nurses regularly, follow a general asthma action plan or a SMART asthma action plan and avoid asthma triggers.
