The St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Northwest HealthCare emergency room (ER) is now staffed 24-7 by Washington University pediatricians and nurses whose entire focus is caring for children with a variety of illnesses and injuries.
Common pediatric conditions treated at Northwest Healthcare’s pediatric emergency unit include:
- Minor injuries
- Asthma and respiratory illnesses
- Dehydration
- Broken bones and fractures
- Cuts, scrapes and lacerations
- Acute belly pain
- Ear aches
- Flu
- Vomiting
In cases where more specialized care is required, the staff will quickly arrange for transport to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
