U.S. News & World Report has again ranked St. Louis Children’s Hospital and its physician partners at Washington University School of Medicine among America’s Best Children’s Hospitals. This is the 16th consecutive year St. Louis Children’s has been ranked the top children’s hospital in the St. Louis region and among the top children’s hospitals nationwide.
St. Louis Children’s ranked in the top 20 for seven of the specialty areas, more than any pediatric hospital in Missouri. The full rankings for pediatric specialty areas are:
- Neurology & Neurosurgery (No. 12)
- Neonatal Care (No. 13)
- Orthopedics (No. 14)
- Nephrology (No. 19)
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (No. 20)
- Cancer (No. 20)
- Pulmonology (No. 20)
- Diabetes & Endocrine Disorders (No. 29)
- Urology (No. 37)
- Behavioral Health (Top 50)
New this year, U.S. News & World Report recognized the top 50 children’s hospitals in the area of behavioral health. Those hospitals were not individually ranked.

BJC Health System also received 86 recognitions for clinical excellence by U.S. News & World Report in July, with Barnes-Jewish Hospital ranking number one in St. Louis and Missouri.
