The clinical services of the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes include the opportunity to participate in investigational studies, especially in the areas of growth and diabetes.

Two research nurses, a physician assistant and a psychologist are primarily involved in research studies related to diabetes. This provides a close tie with new research in diabetes management and prevention. Included in this research is the Diabetes Prevention Trials DPT-1.

Throughout the entire diagnosis and treatment process, the Endocrinology and Diabetes Team of physicians and staff members in Endocrinology and Diabetes are dedicated to providing the most comprehensive care available for their pediatric patients. As part of this goal, they strive to continually educate themselves through research endeavors, and educate parents and patients regarding the care provided and procedures performed.

The clinical care and research team includes:

  • four full-time and two part-time attending physicians
  • four physician fellows
  • one physician assistant
  • five clinical nurse specialists
  • a dietitian/nutritionist
  • a social worker
  • a psychologist
  • additional support staff
