To help your child feel more secure in the hospital, feel free to bring items labeled with your child’s name, such as:

  • A favorite toy or blanket

  • Books, magazines or electronic devices, such as a tablet or iPad (for older children)

  • Special pajamas from home

  • A list or photos of your child’s medications with the dosage amounts and how often your child takes them

  • Your and your child’s questions; as part of patient and family-centered care, we encourage you and your child to become active members of the health care team.

Patients are furnished with a toothbrush, toothpaste and soap, as well as diapers and formula if needed.

Please Don’t Bring to Your Child’s Stay

  • Valuables. Please leave all non-essential valuables at home. Please note the hospital is not responsible for any lost items.

  • Medications. You may bring your child’s medications with you for identification purposes; however, you will be asked to take them home. During your hospital stay, all medications will be dispensed by the hospital pharmacy.
