What to Expect
Patients and families visit with various specialists in one appointment. Depending on their needs, the family may work with the following:
Head to Toe is the hospital’s weight management program that helps children, teens and their parents make healthier lifestyle choices through regular exercise and healthy eating.
Most patients will have follow-up appointments, with the frequency determined by medical need.
Where and when are the visits?
Patients are seen on Fridays in the Healthy Start Clinic in Suite 2C located on the second floor of St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
How do I refer a patient?
We accept patients, ages 5-18, with a body mass index (BMI), or weight for length, greater than the 95th percentile for age. For most children and adolescents, this translates to a BMI greater than 30 kg/m2.
