When your child has cystic fibrosis (CF), you need a center dedicated to treating this complex condition. The Cystic Fibrosis Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital has the expertise to handle all your child’s cystic fibrosis needs — including lung transplantation.

We are an accredited pediatric cystic fibrosis center with a partnering adult cystic fibrosis center at Washington University School of Medicine. That means we can provide care through childhood, adolescence and into adulthood.

Our care team is comprehensive — because we understand that life with cystic fibrosis is complex. We work with you and your child to create a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.

Please note: For safety reasons, we hold a separate clinic for children who are colonized with Burkholderia cepacia complex.

Contacting the Cystic Fibrosis Center

All calls received during working hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) are answered by our secretary. Urgent calls are transferred promptly to cystic fibrosis nurse specialists. Non-urgent calls are answered within 24-hours by the appropriate clinical specialist.

Why Choose the Cystic Fibrosis Center?

We are your cystic fibrosis experts. We treat a large volume of kids and adults with cystic fibrosis, so we understand the complexities of CF throughout a person’s life. Our lung transplant team has performed more than 400 lung transplants — the majority of them for children and adults with advanced cystic fibrosis. And, we continually conduct research to pursue new, better treatments for CF: with the ultimate goal of a cure.
