The St. Louis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program provides a variety of clinical experiences to develop advanced competencies in the specialty area of pediatric psychology.

Our Pediatric Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program is housed within the Department of Psychology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. This fellowship is a one-year program, with potential opportunity to extend for a second year. Faculty in our department provide inpatient and outpatient services to families from urban and rural areas with diverse backgrounds. Patients range in age from newborn to young adult and have a variety of referral concerns and disease presentations.

We offer a training program that is tailored to our fellows' clinical and professional needs and interests. Rotations provide a variety of opportunities to obtain specialized training in pediatric psychology (such as hematology and oncology, medical consultation or liaison, pain and functional symptoms, behavioral sleep medicine, endocrinology and diabetes, gastrointestinal health), participate in a multidisciplinary craniofacial clinic, and conduct outpatient psychotherapy. Clinical training also involves attendance in weekly didactics and participation in a quality improvement (QI) research seminar, with fellows completing a QI project of their choosing during fellowship. Fellows are valued members of the Department of Psychology and the medical teams they work with.

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is a recognized Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) member. We participate in the Common Hold Date (CHD).
