Will there be another Spirit T-shirt & Spirit Days?

Yes! We will have a new spirit t-shirt for sale. Everyone that participates in payroll deduction at $1 or more will automatically qualify for a t-shirt, but for those that choose to not participate in recurring payroll deductions, t-shirts will be sold separately for $26. Employees will be able to purchase their Spirit T-shirt by credit card, personal check, cash or payroll deduction. Washington University Pediatric Partners will be able to purchase their Spirit T-shirt by credit card, personal check or cash. $16 of each T-shirt purchase will go to support the Hospital.

Spirit Days (the 1st Friday of every month) will continue in 2020. Staff are encouraged to wear their Spirit T-shirts and jeans (if applicable).

How is the Employees Giving Campaign different than the United Way?

The Employee Giving Campaign is managed internally by the St. Louis Children's Hospital FoundationWhen you make a donation, you are directly supporting the programs and services of St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The United Way is a separate organization. When you make a gift to the United Way Campaign, your donation is pooled with other donations and allocated by United Way to other valued non-profit organizations in the Greater St. Louis area. Note: St. Louis Children’s Hospital is not a United Way funded non-profit.

How much should I contribute and is my contribution tax deductible?

Making a contribution is a personal decision and any amount is welcome and appreciated. All contributions to St. Louis Children’s Hospital are deductible to the extent provided by law.

Will my boss know if I donate or not?

Not unless you give your consent to publicly disclose that you are a donor and the amount of your donation. Donors have the right to keep their donation information fully confidential.

Where does my donation go?

We are asking that you direct your gift to our Area of Greatest Need Fund, but you may direct your support wherever you choose. The Foundation has many funds that directly benefit patients, employees and the Hospital.

What if I can’t make a large donation, should I still contribute?

All donations make a difference and play an important role to the success of the overall campaign. As well, remember that donations can be spread out over the year through payroll deduction or monthly credit card donations.

Why give each year?

Your participation and gifts affect the continuance and quality of the programs and services that are donor funded. Your annual support will provide exciting new developments and greater opportunities for our patients and their families.
